Threshold Theatre Company will be bringing the electrifying musical Flashdance to Norwich Theatre Playhouse from 3rd to 7th June 2026.

Audition Information
We are looking to bring together a cast of all ages and abilities for our upcoming production of Flashdance! There are roles for principal actors, strong dancers, and those who prefer singing and acting without heavy dance. Some roles may be drawn from the ensemble or from our dancer group, depending on casting, so please don’t feel discouraged if you’re unsure of your dance level – there are opportunities for everyone.
We hope to build a dance ensemble for key scenes, but the wider ensemble will focus on singing and acting with some movement. Whatever your strengths, we’d love you to audition!
Cast members will need to be aged 18 and over.
Our production will run at Norwich Theatre Playhouse from 3rd – 7th June 2026, with a Saturday and Sunday matinee.
Important Dates
Auditions will be held at: Douro Chapel, Norwich, NR2 4BQ
Monday 24th November 2025 – Information and Sing Through, 7:30-10pm
The Information Evening is not mandatory, but it is an opportunity to meet the Creative Team and hear about plans for the show and also to sing through the audition pieces as a group.
Thursday 27th November 2025 – Mandatory Dance Workshop Audition, 7:30-10pm
There will be two sessions – a mandatory Movement Workshop for all, followed by an optional Dance Workshop for those wishing to be considered for principal or ensemble dance roles. Please come dressed to move.
Sunday 30th November 2025 – Auditions
Time slots will be allocated following attendance at the information and sing-through evening. We have provided backing tracks for audition pieces in advance. All audition material can be found in the Audition Information Pack.
Rehearsals will be Mondays and Thursdays with Sundays February and June 2026, held at Douro Chapel unless otherwise stated.
During the audition process, you will be asked to let us know of any planned absences. We will accommodate absences that we know about in advance. Auditionees with excessive absences or who are unavailable for key dates may not be cast, but please book an audition if you are keen and discuss any issues you have with us.
Please be honest about any prior commitments. Frequent, undeclared absences could result in being removed from the show during the rehearsal process. If your planned absences have been agreed upon by the team in advance and you are cast in the show, your absence will not be an issue.
If you are successful in being cast, you will be asked to pay a membership fee of £25. We will also ask for a damage deposit to cover your vocal score, which will be refunded at the show’s end when you return your book.
