Echo Youth Theatre and Threshold Theatre Company are thrilled to announce their co-production of Annie, coming to the Norwich Playhouse from 29th May to 1st June 2025.

Threshold Theatre Company are delighted to have been asked to collaborate with NNOS on the UK Amateur Première of Les Misérables to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Boublil & Schönberg’s legendary musical. Our production of Les Misérables will run at Norwich Theatre Royal from 2nd – 6th July 2025.

Audition Information
Threshold Theatre Company are looking for a talented cast of 18 adults for roles in our upcoming production of Annie, co-produced with Echo Youth Theatre.
Adult cast members will need to be aged 16 and over. If you are 16 and applying to audition you must have completed Year 11 – we are unable to accept applications from those still in Year 11 as of 19th January 2025.
Our production will run at Norwich Theatre Playhouse from 29th May – 1st June 2025, with a Thursday, Saturday and Sunday matinee.
Important Dates
Auditions will be held at: St Edmunds Church, Fishergate, Norwich, NR3 1SE
Wednesday 11th December 2024 – Information and Sing Through, 7-9pm
The Information Evening is not mandatory, but it is an opportunity to meet the Creative Team and hear about plans for the show and also to sing through the audition pieces as a group.
Wednesday 8th January 2025 – Mandatory Adult Dance Workshop Audition, 6-7:30pm or 7:30-9pm
There will be two sessions – you only need to attend one of them. You will workshop a piece of choreography from the show. Please come dressed to move. We are looking for a cast of strong movers including a strong cohort of dancers. If you can tap dance, please bring your tap shoes.
Sunday 12th January 2025 – Adult Group Auditions, 1-7:00pm
The auditions will be held in two groups – you only need to attend one of the sessions. Auditions will consist of a solo singing audition in front of the group and script work in groups and pairs using the audition scripts. All audition material can be found in the Audition Information Pack, by character, along with the role/character/scene breakdown of the cast.
Monday 13th January 2025 – Recall Auditions (if required), 6:30-8:30pm
You will be notified on Sunday evening if recall auditions will be held and if you are required.
Sunday 19th January 2025 – First Rehearsal
Rehearsals will be Mondays and Wednesdays with Sundays and two Saturdays between January and May 2025, held at Echo Youth Theatre’s rehearsal venue, unless otherwise stated. Please refer to the Draft Rehearsal Schedule.
During the audition process, you will be asked to let us know of any planned absences. We will accommodate absences that we know about in advance. Auditionees with excessive absences or who are unavailable for key dates may not be cast, but please book an audition if you are keen and discuss any issues you have with us.
Please be honest about any prior commitments. Frequent, undeclared absences could result in being removed from the show during the rehearsal process. If your planned absences have been agreed upon by the team in advance and you are cast in the show, your absence will not be an issue.
If you are successful in being cast, you will be asked to pay a show fee of £75. We may also ask for a damage deposit to cover your vocal score which will be refunded at the show’s end when you return your book. Costumes will be provided.
Agreement to photographic and video consent for internal use and external marketing is a pre-requisite for casting.
Children’s Auditions
We are also looking for 12 young female performers aged 9 and over to audition the roles of Annie and the orphans. Please see Echo Youth Theatre’s website for more details.
