Threshold Theatre Company will be bringing the outrageously fun, irreverent musical comedy Rock of Ages to Norwich Theatre Playhouse from 9th to 13th June 2027.

Audition Information
We are looking to bring together a cast of all ages and abilities for our upcoming production of Rock of Ages. There are roles for principal actors, strong dancers, and those who prefer singing and acting without heavy dance. Some smaller featured roles may also be drawn from the ensemble, so there are opportunities for
everyone.
Cast members will need to be aged 18 and over.
Our production will run at Norwich Theatre Playhouse from 9th – 13th June 2027, with a Saturday and Sunday matinee.
Important Dates
Auditions will be held at: Douro Chapel, Norwich, NR2 4BQ
Wednesday 11th November 2026 – Information & Sing-Through Evening, 7:30-10pm
The Information Evening is not mandatory, but it is an opportunity to meet the Creative Team and hear about plans for the show and also to sing through the audition pieces as a group.
Wednesday 25th November 2026 – Movement Workshop & Ensemble Auditions, 8-10pm
A fun movement workshop followed by ensemble vocal auditions in small groups. Please come dressed to move, and note that this evening will be held at the Guildhall School of Dancing.
Sunday 29th November 2026 – Auditions*
Those auditioning for named roles will be allocated individual time slots to perform the prepared vocal pieces and scenes for their chosen role. There will only be time to audition for one role, but you will be able to indicate on your application form if you are happy to be considered for other roles. Rehearsals will be Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:30–10pm, with regular Sundays between February and June 2027, held at Douro Chapel unless otherwise stated.
During the audition process, you will be asked to let us know of any planned absences. We will accommodate absences that we know about in advance. Auditionees with excessive absences or who are unavailable for key dates may not be cast, but please book an audition if you are keen and discuss any issues you have with us.
Please be honest about any prior commitments. Frequent, undeclared absences could result in being removed from the show during the rehearsal process. If your planned absences have been agreed upon by the team in advance and you are cast in the show, your absence will not be an issue.
